The Great White Destroyer is an action/arcade game that I came up with while prototyping Snowball's Chance 2, in fact the method for controlling Shark is an updated version of the controls from the Snowball game.
I was well in the mood for action, absurd and hilarious action, as I had been working on puzzle/adventure for a while previously. I think it worked out well! I learned a great deal about putting a larger game together, shearing content for time constraints, and throwing reality out the window for the sake of an enjoyable play experience.
Gameplay: Simple mouse controls allow you to swim about eating and destroying anything and everything. Doing so makes the shark god happy. Try not to get killed in the process.
Score: Making kills will net you points, and increase the shark god's "happy meter"! When the "happy meter" is filled, the stage is complete. Note that that higher your score goes, the harder the enemies get, which in turn makes them worth more points.
Combos: Pulling these off will earn you bonus points.
Craves: Every so often the shark god will "Crave" a special sort of destruction or kill. Pull this off in the time alloted and be rewarded with bonus points and a power-up or special event.
Frenzy: Your "frenzy meter" fills with every kill, or when you take damage. When filled you will rage, becoming faster, deadlier, and invincible! During this time the "happy meter" will not trigger a stage complete, so now's your chance to get as many points as possible.
Enemies: 74 of 'em. They range from lowly croakers, to submarines and even larger things. Bosses included!
Difficulty: 4 levels to choose from, so anyone can find a challenge, or breeze through if that's your preference.
Stages: 32 of 'em. Ranging from the shoreline to the deepest dark of the sea.
Game Modes: 2 different story modes, one of which is pretty much a mini boss run.
Any feedback is welcome, have fun!
